How to look radiant on your wedding day?

27 June 2023

Your wedding day is an extraordinary moment and you need to look as good as you feel. That’s why it’s essential to take care of yourself before the big day. Here’s a practical guide to help you look and feel your best on your wedding day.

1. Prioritize your sleep:
A good night’s sleep is crucial to feeling fresh and energetic on the D-day. Try to go to bed at a regular time a few days before and give yourself enough hours of sleep. If you find it hard to fall asleep because of stress, practise relaxation techniques before bed, such as meditation or deep breathing.

Example: Establish a sleep routine by going to bed every night at 10pm and waking up at 7am to get 8 hours of restful sleep.

2. A balanced diet:
A healthy, balanced diet will help you feel good about your body and give you glowing skin. Opt for nutrient-rich foods such as fruit, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains. Avoid processed foods, refined sugars and fried foods, which can affect your complexion and energy levels.

Example: Include leafy green vegetables like spinach, vitamin C-rich fruit like oranges, lean protein sources like chicken or tofu, and whole grains like quinoa or brown rice in your diet.

3. Take care of your skin:
Glowing skin on your wedding day is essential to feeling confident and radiant. Adopt a skincare routine that includes cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising.

Example: Cleanse your skin morning and night with a gentle cleanser suited to your skin type. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells. Moisturise your skin twice a day with a moisturising cream or serum suited to your needs.

4. Manage your stress:
Stress can have a negative impact on your physical and emotional well-being. Find stress management techniques that work for you.

Example: Practise yoga or meditation to relax and calm your mind. Exercise regularly to release endorphins, the happy hormones. Plan moments of relaxation, such as relaxing baths or reading, to recharge your batteries.

Get some exercise:
Regular physical activity will help you stay fit, relieve stress and boost your self-confidence. Find an activity you enjoy and make it part of your routine.

Example: Go jogging, dancing, cycling or join a fitness class. Find a training partner to motivate each other. You can also work out using the Youtube platform, where you can find videos and effective programmes without leaving home: Sissy Mua, The Yoginist, Chloe Ting…

Taking care of yourself before your wedding day is essential if you want to look radiant and relaxed. By following these tips and adapting the examples to your lifestyle, you’ll be ready to live your special day to the full. Don’t forget that your well-being is paramount and that you deserve to be pampered before you say ‘I do’.
